I've never been up in one ~ scared of heights. Once when I was little, they had to stop a ferris wheel and let me off because I was screaming and crying. :::sigh:::

Aw, that sucks.  My parents got a hot air balloon ride once as birthday gifts for me & my sis, so we went up together.  I loved it.  I could seriously make it an every weekend hobby if I had the time and money.  It was pricey.

It's so steady, and you're on a wooden floor (the bottom of the basket is flat wood), so it's just like standing on a floor floating in the air, sailing around.  If you're not afraid of heights, it's really relaxing.  Of course, for those who are afraid of heights, I could see it being terrifying.

Beautiful drawing! I really like this!

I have never been up in a hot air balloon, and I am also afraid of hieghts, to an extent. I did however, go parasailing with a friend of mine who came to visit me about 5 years ago. I purchased a 900 foot line and one dip, and it was a thrill a minute! OMG, it was so much fun!

I just gotta say, parasailing seems about a thousand times more terrifying than riding in a hot air balloon, IMHO. ;D

I thought the same thing!  But then... my one phobia is deep water, and what scares me about parasailing is the potential for landing in the water instead of on the boat.

I watched the parasailors all week from the balcony of the condo she rented, and I was working up my nerve all week. I think on Wed, I told my friend that Friday was going to be the day. It really is more controlled than you would think. When they bring you down, you won't miss the boat due to being "reeled in", along with the controlled speed of the boat in doing so. Same with going up. And when they dip you into the water, it is only your feet, really, then back up you go. As long as I didn't look down too much, I was ok with the heights, lol. It was really cool watching the beach,  skyline, the water, everything as you smoothly sail along! I would recommend it to everyone!

My feet in water I know to be deep would have me in hysterics.  I'm a pathetic that way.
