Crud, the landlord told me and now I forget... it sucks, because I'm really interested, but I'm terrible with names, even flower names.

I do know he told me that the ones with the skinny purple petals are echinacea and there's also thyme in the yard, but I can't remember these pink ones and I love them.

I'm thinking they're glads (gladiolus, gladiolas ... talk about spelling changes), so you can just remember how "glad" you are to see them.

Yep, the pink ones are gladiolus - not sure mine are ever going to bloom!  I Have a lily that is about to bloom - others getting there - love the artistic shots here Larissa!
I managed to find some wonderful cactus flowers last week - but all the shots are a little fuzzy - need to get back over there before they quit blooming - may be too late now, maybe I can go  today!

That's been happening to me this summer - I see something I want to shoot but don't have the camera out & by the time I get to it, it's withered in the heat.

I keep checking my lilies daily just so I don't miss them!  I have some dahlias too, but I'm not real sure they are going to bloom, we'll see!

These flower pictures are gorgeous. How could anyone tire of seeing them. Particularly someone like me who lives in a loft and doesn't have a place to garden.
