Chain Maille Videos
« on: April 10, 2010, 11:41:55 AM »
I've started releasing videos on my website on how to make chain maille.

I used to teach jewelry classes in the Bay Area until a number of stores closed down last year, so this is a way for me to get that teaching fix.

I currently have two basic jewelry tutorials: opening jump rings, and wire wrapping, and two chain projects: a charm bracelet, and spiral weave.

I'm planning to release at least one per month and expand into deeper designs and projects along the way.

You can see the full list of chain maille videos here. Enjoy!

Love the wire wrapping video. It's one of the easiest to follow step by step instructions I've seen on the web.  :)

Your videos are great - thanks to your spiral tutorial I have finally worked out how to do it - after months of frustration.

Haffina, I'm thrilled that the video helped you figure it out!

I keep trying to master jen's pind and it keeps turning into spiral, darn it. When I finally get it I'm going to record it so I never have to learn it again.

Anyway, I added a new video: Full Persian. Much trickier than the last few, but again just a modification of byzantine in some ways.

I'm super excited too - The Ring Lord just added a link from their instruction pages because they liked the videos.  :D

Next time I'm feeling rich (/scoff!) I'll think about buying a new slr camera so I can shoot with a fixed focus lens with smaller aperture. That will deal with some of the focus issues I'm having.

These are wonderful!  I tend to learn by watching so worded tutorials are pretty worthless to me.
