Exposure From Blog Ring Increases Traffic To Your Shops
« on: March 26, 2010, 03:49:39 AM »
Hey fellow artisans! If you are participating in the blog rings, you should be seeing an increase in the amount of traffic to your shops, or at least I have anyways. I checked sources of my traffic on Google Analytics, and I have been receiving some major hits from some of your blogs, THANK YOU! For the ones who aren't participating, it's never too late to start. This thing really works, and every bit of exposure you can get eventually, if not now, will help sales.

I would love to hear from others how traffic is to their shops!  ^-^

I'm sure mine has picked up too. Between this and the link love on Facebook, I'm getting new followers almost each day. I have noticed that participation seems to have dropped off though. I feel like I'm commenting less each week because many haven't posted anything. I happen to enjoy doing it each week. It allows me to get to know team members better and I like promoting others.

I enjoy it too, and I love showing off my favorite pieces that others have made. I just can't imagine not wanting to participate if it brings the traffic, which will bring the sales too.

According to my GA, my blog visits are up 34.93%. HAF and blogger.com are the two largest sources of my traffic.

I love that my blog isn't so lonely anymore, and I love being able to include others' beautiful creations on my page, it gives it some class! Thanks guys!  :-* ^-^

I am so glad this is working the way it was supposed to!  As long as people are interested we will keep doing it.  Once this round is over we will see who wants to still be involved and mix up the list.  Keep keeping track and us posted!  If it drives traffic then it is a good thing for everyone.

I know that when it was my week to be featured, I sold the most expesive piece to date. I kinda figure the blog ring must have had something to do with it.
Also, in the last 2 days I have had 2 new people sign up on my blog, and I have no idea who they are. I don't think they are anyone from HAF because they didn't comment. All they did was register.
Last week I was really busy and didn't get a chance to post until this week for last week, but I have it up under last week. I will have this weeks up shortly. I also did the few comments from the posts that were up from last week for ring 2 except for Violet's because she had an error in her comment box that wasn't allowing comments.
I want to stick with it, and I think mixing it up would be a good idea. Ring 2 kinda got the short end of the stick this time around, but who knew?

I'm glad that everyone is seeing some results, I wish I had more time to participate. I spend so much time promoting the  forum and shop that I don't have any time to promote our own stuff.

Also don't forget about the feature yourself on the HAFblog http://handmadeartistsforum.com/forum/index.php/board,34.0.html which will also give added exposure. Glad to see the blog ring bringing results!

I would say it is definitely working because I am getting requests from all sorts of people so thank you to everyone who participates.  I'm getting ready to get caught up on the comments this week so I can start next week.  Some times it is just difficult to keep up with all of it!!

Dear Jannelle ~ how are you able to post both text and pics on your Facebook page? I haven't figured it out yet. So much I don't know ~ Linda (raedawn)

I'll see if I can help out on this one Linda!  On the top of your FB page where you say what is on your mind, there are little buttons/pictures under in that box.  If you scroll over those with your mouse pointer, you will get a little drop down that says what each of those are.  If you click on the photo one, it will allow you to upload a photo or to add a link to a photo.  Then you can type in the What's on your mind box a description or whatever you want.  It will show up in the "Wall Posts" album.

Hope that helps!!

On Blogspot.com, there is a toolbar at the top of the page. I go to various places where the featured artist is and I pick what pictures I want. Then, I right click on the picture, copy the properties, and then I click on the add an image spot on my blogspot. I choose web url, and paste the url addy of the picture in the box, then click left, center or right, and then the done button. I usually have two to three windows open at a time to get this done.
