Painting on silk - my technique
« on: January 06, 2010, 03:11:48 PM »
I'd like to introduce my technique of painting on silk. It is a patterning technique where you put hot wax on the fabric. It originates from the Indonesian island of Java. The pattern or the dividing line, which limits the spillage of paint over the silk, is done by applying hot wax on the material. The procedure can be repeated many times with various colors and patterning of the wax.

That is so cool!  Your tutorial explains the technique really well, though I can't imagine ever having the patience to do it!  Beautiful results.
