Just to let everyone know, we are up to 28 participants so I will be splitting the ring into two separate rings next week.  I will post the lists of members of each ring on Sunday along with our new featured member!

Heather, your blog post really touched me -- I try to stay positive, sometimes it's hard. The reason why I'm going to be out of town is because I'm going home to Kansas City to say goodbye to my dad. He's been very sick and in the hospital for about 2 months. They've done everything they can now but it turns out he has had an autoimmune blood disorder and no matter what they try it just keeps clotting up in his brain. I've tried to focus on staying busy and creating things because I know that's what my dad would want me to do. One of the last things we talked about when he was coherent before Thanksgiving was a wall I have in my house that was moldy because of a leak I didn't know about. He told me its the moldy walls that keep us going.

My attitude is my shield from everything else around me that would keep me in bed crying and I learned that from my dad.

But thank you everyone for all the kind things you've said about my jewelry and causes and even about me this week. It was unexpected and like a huge hug that I needed. I hope to do the same in kind for as long as possible.

Sharon, I know a virtual hug isn't much, but you've got one from me anyway.

I hope your dad is as OK as he can be and not in pain.  It sounds like he's lived a good, happy, full life with a great daughter, and I'd bet he's been very glad to have all that.

Take care and stay safe on your trip.

I'm sorry about your dad, but he can at least go knowing that he raised one hell of a daughter!  That is something that every parent wishes for.  Hugs to you and prayers to your family.

Just dropping in quickly to share the link to my blog about Sharon's shop and blog.

http://a-painting-mom.blogspot.com/2010/01/seedlings-jewelry-because.html

Meanwhile, I read the latest posts and it breaks my heart. Sharon, I'm so sorry to hear about your dad. I lost my dad almost 8 years ago. One thing I can say is this...no matter what he will ALWAYS be with you. You'll carry him in your heart forever. I still have dreams about my dad and I can hear his voice as plain as day. It will be hard for a long time, but just hold on and know that he'll never really be gone.

After reading and researching your blog and visiting your shop so I could prepare my blog feature about your work I can see that he did a great job raising you!

Take care and know that you are in our prayers.

OH Sharon, I'm so sorry about your dad, I didn't mean to upset you - even if it was in a good way...

Here is my blog post on Seedlings Jewelry, http://jewelrybyjanelle50.blogspot.com/2010/01/my-friend-sharon.html

Please add me to the ring, if you haven't already.

Sharon, I didn't realize you were originally from Kansas City, me too! So sorry to hear of your Dad, I lost mine a little over 5 yrs ago, and I still miss him, but have fond memories. He was an avid woodworker, as is my ex, so he would have been beaming with pride at his "little girl" learning to woodwork. I can still hear him, that loud guffawing laugh when he was poking fun, and I think about him now laughing at my woodworking goofs with a smile on my face. In time, am certain you will carry your own fond memories of your Dad with you as well.

Sharon,
I can't tell you how sorry I am to hear about your Dad.  It's harder than hell to lose a parent, especially when you've got as wonderful a relationship with him as you do.  My heart goes out to you... and I will keep you in my thoughts.  Be safe as you travel, then come back safely to your HAF family!

Ya know, I really think that this blog ring was needed. I mean it's great for the mutual promotion and all, but it is even better because it will give each and every one of us who decides to participate a better knowledge about their teammates. I have been a member since last August and barely know a handful of you and then not very well at all. This is going to give me a chance to learn a lot more about everyone, and I am looking forward to it!
